KVM and Control room

AIT has over 20 years’ experience designing, installing and supporting Keyboard, Video and Mouse switching and extension solutions in a wide range of applications. Connecting work stations to multiple or remote computers using KVM over IP technology across your network infrastructure.

From simple analogue 2 port desktop KVM switches to complex 1,000: 1,000 KVM over IP matrix systems with diverse inputs and signal types we have what you need, whatever your requirement.

Keith Maslin
AIT provided a highly workable and durable solution, which is scaleable should Veolia want to expand the system. Not only that, but AIT completed the work in the agreed timeframe and within the budget.

Take a look at our case studies

Applications Include:

Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) switching

  • Combine VDI with legacy digital and analogue inputs to connect to all your systems

Broadcast & Post Production

  • Control user access to your entire suite of effects and production systems from a single booth; NLE, grading, CGI, VFX, audio…
  • Reference-grade video performance with 1:1 pixel mapping, full EDID support & USB peripheral support
  • De clutter and remove noisy computers from live broadcast environments

Defence & Security

  • Provide a physical break between secure and non-secure systems
  • Remove physical access to computers eliminating threat of mass storage devices
  • Secure KVM Switches with Tempest Level 1 & 2, EAL4+ accreditation

Command & Control

  • Traffic Control
  • Blue light
  • CCTV

Trading Floors & Financial Services

  • Low latency switching of multiple inputs including

Industrial & Commercial

  • Remove computers from hazardous environments

  • Instant viewing of HD video across the network to allow teams to see outputs from scanners and medical equipment in real time

KVM over IP Extension Features

  • DVI-D – Digital Visual Interface 1920 x 1200 @ 60Hz
  • USB 2.0 with class control
  • Supports USB2.0 devices (low, full and high speed). Security feature allows the blocking of non-HID devices. Isochronous devices are not supported (e.g. USB audio or video devices)
  • Digital stereo audio
  • RS232 can be passed between the units to a maximum baud rate of 115,200. RS232
  • 1:1 pixel mapping, colour accurate video with no artefacts. The digital video you receive is the same as the digital video leaving the remote computer
  • EDID management
  • Single CATx cable or fibre with immunity from interference
  • Extension distance is not limited to a single 100 meter cable length – add a 1GbE network device to achieve an additional 100 meters
  • Units have SFP cages to accept fibre optic transceivers which enable much greater extension distances
  • Support for MacPro (Dithered Video)
  • The unit detects if the network is in operation and automatically change to a second network port if it detects a failure
  • Software Management system turns multiple point-to- point extenders into scalable digital KVM matrix system to allow any workstation to link with any computer connected to the network

Matrix KVM features

  • Scalable and flexible architecture
  • Instant delay-free switching
  • Flex-Port technology for dynamic port assignments
  • Mix & Match (fibre ports can be switched to Cat-X ports and vice versa)
  • Matrix Grid option allows multi-matrix connections through grid lines
  • High definition resolutions 1080p, 2560 x 2048 up to 4K DCI / Ultra HD
  • Supports SD-, HD- or 3G-SDI
  • 24 bit colour depth, deep colour ready
  • Supports USB-HID, USB 2.0 and 3.0
  • Update capability of the extenders over the matrix
  • API Service
  • Mult-Screen Control
  • SNMP & Syslog
  • Redundant power supply
  • Fully-redundant system support (CPU Unit – matrix switch – CON Unit)
